TOYS

The Amana Colonies always value tradition, innovation, and creativity highly. Many crafts were developed in the communal era for utilitarian use and to keep hands and minds busy.  The child's toys were made mainly in a cabinet maker's or kitchen worker's free time.  Toys such as the sled, klickerbahn, rocking horses, doll houses, crocheted rabbits, were created with love and great skill for children in the family.  It is nice to see the great variety of items created by the local craftspeople.
