CURTAIN RODS

Simple curtain rods we made by the local blacksmith in each Amana village where one worked. The rods were used on each nine over six pane window to hold simple cotton curtains over a roller shade of canvas. They were fit into eyelet hooks, also hand made. The elegant look of these rods made one want to keep them for decades as are those in our old Hess/Schuhmacher house where the local blacksmith lived. His shop was across the street and the house still bears his initials in the railing and horseshoes in the sidewalk. The rods will last forever it seems....
