Windows

The Windows of the old buildings in Amana are very unique to the 7 villages. The top section of the double hung window was stationary with 9 window panes, the lower sash had 6 panes or nine over six as it is known here. The glass was handmade with its bubbles and distorted views. The windows of the brick and stone houses were headed with segmental arches ( mouse tooth design), the wood frame buildings had straight headings.
